Mineral:Calcite over Amethyst Quartz
Locality:Guanajuato Silver Mining District, Guanajuato, Mexico
Description:Lustrous transparent purple amethyst quartz crystals to 15 mm with overgrowth of translucent white calcite crystals to 1 mm and larger scalenohedral calcite crystals to 40 mm. Second generation calcite microcrystals coat the first generation calcite.
Overall Size:8x6.5x3 cm
