Locality: | Sar-e-Sang, Kokscha Valley, Badakshan, Afghanistan (Type Locality for Lazurite) |
Description: | Small lapis-lazuli crystals, the gem variety of the mineral species lazurite, in white marble. The lazurite crystals are deep indigo-blue color and most crystal faces are complete. The surrounding marble fluoresces white to orange. Collected ca. 1980 |
