Description: | Unusually large plate of translucent red-brown dodecahedral almandine garnet crystals to 22 mm with prismatic translucent red-brown staurolite crystals to 12 mm in contrasting gray schist. The almandine garnet crystals stand proud of the schist. Locality closed to collecting in 2012. Collected ca. 1992 |
