Locality:Piedra Parada, near Las Vigas, Tatatila, Veracruz, Mexico
Description:Lustrous transparent purple amethyst quartz crystals to 45 mm on both sides of translucent gray calcite microcrystal plate with colorless quartz microcrystals. This is the only specimen I ever had from this locale of amethyst on the original matrix. Ex. G. McLoughlin collection, acquired from T. Nikischer
