Mineral:Quartz and Chalcopyrite on Sphalerite
Locality:Huaron District, Cerro de Pasco Province, Pasco Department, Peru
Description:Translucent white quartz crystals to 10 mm on lustrous black sphalerite crystals to 8 mm with overgrowth of yellow-metallic tetrahedral chalcopyrite crystals to 1 mm. The sphalerite crystals are all complexly twinned following the Spinel Law of twinning. From my personal collection; collected ca. 1990.
