Description: | Aesthetic formation of two intersecting fan-shaped aggregates of quartz microcrystal pseudomorphs after anhydrite crystals to 45 mm with hematite. Anhydrite formed first, was overgrown with quartz; when the anhydrite dissolved it left hollow molds. Ex. Leighton S. Donley collection (1912-1970 of Cornwall, Pa); ex. Skip Colflesh collection #3253; originally acquired from M. Davis in 2006 |
