Locality:Castle Point (Stevens Bluff), Hoboken, (west shore of Hudson River opposite NYC) Hudson County, New Jersey (Type Locality for Brucite)
Description:Narrow cavities, in veins running through gray quartz, lined with platy colorless brucite crystals to 9 mm and lustrous transparent colorless bladed magnesite crystals 1 mm with fibrous brown mountain leather, probably composed of lizardite.
