Description: | Lustrous transparent orange-brown smithsonite crystals completely covering all surfaces of a plate of matrix. The smithsonite color is caused by cadmium impurities. All surfaces are composed microscopic subparallel crystal faces giving a silky luster. Ex. M. Sussman |
