Locality:Auchenlosh Quarry, Dalbeattie, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland
Description:Lustrous translucent smoky quartz crystals to 12 mm with surface coating of brown goethite plus minor red-brown hematite microcrystals included in subsurface layers of the quartz crystals. The goethite coating is likely due to alteration of the hematite. Collected in 1991
