Locality: | Devil's Head, Rampart Range, 25 km southwest of Castle Rock, Douglas County, Colorado |
Description: | Very large lustrous transparent-to-translucent smoky quartz crystals with complex suture patterns on the prism faces, indicating twinning following the Dauphiné Law of quartz twinning. A smaller incomplete smoky quartz crystal intersected one edge. |
