Description: | Hollow geode formation of siliceous sinter, a fine grained layered silica deposited in a geyser, that may be composed of quartz, opal, or both. Clearly the underlying form is that of quartz crystals, but the outer layers are microcrystalline. Collected by Tom Minnich ca. 1992 |
