Description: | Lustrous black goethite crystals in layered hemispherical formations to 5 mm thick with areas of brown ferruginous quartz crystals to 1 mm. The goethite formed from iron liberated by the decomposition of serpentine and was mined in surficial deposits. Collected ca. 1950 |
