Description: | Lustrous translucent brown-black jeffersonite crystals, the zinc- and manganese-rich variety of augite, on translucent gray calcite. The jeffersonite crystals have slightly waxy luster and the largest crystals are terminated on both ends. The calcite fluoresces orange under SW UV illumination. Collected April 1993 |
