Description: | Lustrous red transparent-to-translucent ruby crystal, the red gem variety of the mineral species corundum, with no matrix. The ruby crystal is conical hexagonal form, with highly lustrous crystal faces, with unusual reentrant faces caused by twinning. The bottom was the attachment point. Originally acquired ca. 1990; Weight: 0.6 grams. Fluoresces red under LW-UV illumination |
