Locality:Merelani Hills, near Arusha, Tanzania
Description:Lustrous transparent bright-green tsavorite garnet crystal, the green gem variety of grossular garnet, with minor dark graphite on the bottom where it was attached. The green color of tsavorite garnet is caused by high chromium and vanadium content. Fluoresce orange under LW-SW UV illumination. Weight: 1.8 grams (9.21 carats)
