Description: | Lustrous translucent yellow-brown rectangular apophyllite crystals to 11 mm on a larger transparent gray rhombic 21 mm calcite crystal. The apophyllite crystals are an unusual color, possibly caused by oxidation of a nearby pyrite crystal. Collected in 1990s by Prof. Martin Becker, author of Recent Mineral Finds at the Millington Quarry in Rocks and Minerals v.73 #5 |
