Description: | Coarsely crystallized quartz pegmatite with rectangular black allanite crystals to 7 mm visible on the surface. Though no analysis has been performed, it is likely this is the Cerium-rich species: Allanite-(Ce). Acquired from B. Plotkin; ex. Rutgers College collection; donated by George W. Vanderhoef (1859 - 1947) (facsimile label) |
