Locality:Upper New Street Quarry, Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey
Description:Large pocket lined with lustrous transparent purple amethyst quartz crystals to 12 mm. Under magnification spherical brown goethite-hematite inclusions to 0.5 mm are visible. The convex pocket shape was caused by voids between pillow basalt extrusions. Collected in 1980s to 1990s by Prof. Martin Becker
