Description: | Elongated plate of lustrous purple-gray smoky-amethyst quartz crystals to 17 mm with small platy black-metallic hematite crystals to 1 mm scattered over the surfaces. Amethyst occurred only in one area at this quarry and was uncommon. Collected in 1990s by Prof. Martin Becker, author of Recent Mineral Finds at the Millington Quarry in Rocks and Minerals v.73 #5 |
