Description: | Unusually large amazonite crystal, the blue-green variety of the mineral microcline, twinned diagonally through the centers following the Baveno Law of feldspar twinning. The color of amazonite is caused by trace lead impurities in the microcline. Ex. Robert Richards private collection; originally acquired ca. 1990 from Dan Studley; collected in the 1970s |
