Description: | Smooth brown limonite pseudomorph after a 25 mm striated pyrite crystal in contrasting white clay-rich matrix. The pyrite crystallized first, then altered molecule by molecule to limonite. Some original pyrite may remain internally. Ex. Miller #M3227; ex. Betts #69574; collected in 2015 |
