Description: | Lustrous black uvite tourmaline crystals to 30 mm frozen in translucent white calcite with fine-grained silvery-metallic graphite on the bottom. The NY State museum tested the tourmaline, confirmed it as uvite, and matched it to the Atlas Quarry samples. Ex. Jersey City Museum (N.J.); collected before 1901 |
