Locality: | ledge above the Harvard Quarry, Noyes Mountain, Greenwood, Oxford County, Maine |
Description: | Many lustrous doubly-terminated black schorl tourmaline crystals to 18 mm with red-brown almandine garnet crystals to 5 mm in brownish quartz-muscovite matrix. I collected this specimen on the western ledge above the lowest pit. Ex. S. Kelland collection; acquired in 2009; collected in 1989 by J. Betts; ex. Betts #46548 |
