Locality: | Green's Farm, 750 m. ESE of Roxbury Falls, Roxbury, New Haven County, Connecticut |
Description: | Lustrous translucent red-brown dodecahedral almandine garnet crystals to 16 mm with prismatic translucent red-brown staurolite crystals to 5 mm in gray schist. The almandine garnet crystals are harder than the surrounding schist and stand proud. From my personal collection; collected ca. 1992; locality closed to collecting in 2012. |
