Locality:Linwood Mine, Buffalo, Scott County, Iowa
Description:Large single crystal of transparent calcite with no matrix. The rhombic (broad, front) faces have a fine linear texture. The complex edge faces are highly lustrous and show the internal transparency with gray phantom zone of marcasite microcrystals. From my personal collection
