Locality:Central Highland Belt, near Ratnapura, Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka
Description:Lustrous transparent blue sapphire crystal, the blue colored gem variety of the mineral species corundum, with hexagonal di-pyramidal form composed of flat crystal faces. The sapphire is unusually transparent with zones of vivid deep-blue color. Weight: 2.44 carats. From my personal collection.
