Description: | Lustrous dark-red hexagonal platy shigaite crystals (rare hydrated sulfate with hydroxyl), in aggregates to 6 mm across, on lustrous translucent gray rhombic calcite crystals to 11 mm. The shigaite crystals are in three places around the specimen. Ex. Miller collection T2842; ex. Betts #37234; from my personal collection |
