Description: | Double-sided cluster of translucent yellow smithsonite crystals in rounded formations with remnants of matrix. The yellow color of the smithsonite is caused by cadmium impurities. Local miners called these Turkey Fat Ore because of the appearance. Ex. Miller collection T1504; originally acquired in 2011 from Chris Wright (1946-2014); ex. Fred H. Pough (1906-2006) |
