Mineral:Arfvedsonite (rare terminated crystal) on Microcline with Zircon
Locality:Hurricane Mountain, east of Intervale, Carroll County, New Hampshire
Description:Lustrous black arfvedsonite crystals to 9 mm on blocky tan-colored microcline crystals to 11 mm. The termination of the main arfvedsonite crystal has a 2 mm brown zircon on one edge and the basal pinacoid face has a cavity from a dissolved crystal. Ex. Miller collection T2556; ex. Betts #63191; ex. Thomas A. Penney (1934-2019) collection #66, collected in the 1960s-70s
