Locality:Merelani Hills, near Arusha, Tanzania
Description:Large lustrous transparent bright-green tsavorite garnet crystals, the green gem variety of grossular garnet, with dark graphite on the bottom. The green color of tsavorite is caused by high chromium and vanadium content. Fluoresces dim orange under SW UV illumination. Weight: 8.0 grams. Ex. Miller collection T1692
